(Here 'in such a case' is short for 'in a situation where the positions of myself and Smith are exactly reversed.') By RGRE, for example, if I hold that it would be all right for me to hit Smith but I refuse to consent to or permit the idea of Smith hitting me in such a case, then I am logically inconsistent-I am refusing to accept the logical consequences of my right-judgment. R. M. Hare is the foremost supporter of the view that 'moral judgments are universal or universalisable prescriptions, permissions or prohibitions'; he makes extensive use of OGREs and RGREs.2 I don't find any WGREs in his writings, but I imagine he would accept that 'Giving women equal legal rights would be wrong' entails 'In such a case: don't give me equal legal rights'.
