Abstract

In the context of Langmuir—Blodgett film deposition, the water-wettability of a substrate is often considered to determine the type of deposition. This is shown not to be true. Procedures are reported for achieving reproducible even-sequence deposition on a number of technologically important materials. This is particularly interesting because even-sequence deposition can be fast and avoids chemical action by water on the substrate.
