Abstract

In this study, dissymmetric Gemini quaternary ammonium salts cationic surfactant was synthesized and characterized based on which asphalt emulsions were prepared. To this end, the resulting performance evaluation results have been compared with standards. It was found that the asphalt emulsions prepared in the presence of a main emulsifier of 0.8 wt%, an assistant emulsifier of 0.2 wt%, pH value of 7.0, and a stabilizer of 0.15 wt% exhibited good storage stability, and its quality met the related standard requirements.
