Abstract

The acyl—platinum complexes trans-[PtCl(COR)L 2] (L = PPh 3) have been obtained in high yield from the reaction between [PtL 2(C 2H 4)] and the acyl chlorides RCOCl (where R = Ph, C 6H 4OMe- p, C 6H 4Cl- p, CHCH 2, CHCHMe, CMeCH 2, CHCHPh). The sulphonato complexes trans-[PtCl(SO 2R)L 2] (with R = Ph or Me) have been obtained analogously from the sulphonyl chlorides. RSO 2Cl. The complex trans-[PtCl(COCHCHPh- trans)L 2] undergoes decarbonylation on heating to give trans-[PtCl(CHCHPh- trans)L 2].
