The preparation and reactions of polymeric azides. I. The reaction of poly(vinylbenzyl azide) with acetylenic and olefinic derivatives

AbstractThe preparation and reactions of polymers and copolymers of vinylbenzyl azide with olefinic and acetylenic derivatives are described. With acetylenes, a 1,3‐dipolar addition gave almost complete conversion to polymeric 1,2,3‐triazoles. Yields were excellent and light‐colored derivatives were obtained.
