Abstract
The preparation and properties of high refractive index and high temperature resistant material for LED application were studied. In this paper, vinyl silicone oil and hydrogen silicone oil were synthesized from methylphenylcyclosiloxane, 1, 3-divinyltetramethyldisiloxan, phenyltrimethoxysilane, and so on. And we incorporated a certain amount of TiO 2 nanoparticles (NPs) and ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) into vinyl silicone oil respectively. Then the silicone was cured by means of the reaction of vinyl silicone oil with hydrogen silicone oil at a certain temperature, chloroplatinic acid as catalyst. The structure characterizations of silicone were carried out with Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and the optical properties of nanocomposite material were analyzed by UV-visible spectrum and Abbe refractometer. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) indicated that both TiO 2 nanoparticles (NPs) and ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) were very well dispersed in the silicone. The thermal properties of silicon nanocomposites were measured by TGA and the testing results indicate that the thermal stability of silicon /ZnO and silicon/TiO 2 nanocomposites (with nanoparticles mass fraction of 0.05%, 0.1%) gain great increase. When the mass fraction of ZnO or TiO 2 was 0.05%, the optical and thermal properties of silicon nanocomposites was best.
