Abstract

The atmospheric inhomogeneity can cause refraction error on the location of radar, in order to improve the accuracy of radar measurements, it is necessary to correct to the wave refractive error. Commonly used methods of radio wave refraction error correction are the spherical stratification method and three-dimensional atmospheric method, but the actual correction accuracy of two methods needs actual test. According to radio wave propagation theory and using the Marcor technology method with high accuracy at present, we carry out the accuracy test on these two common methods by selecting atmospheric parameters in Xinxiang — Zhengzhou interval. Experimental results show that the accuracy of the three-dimensional atmospheric method is higher than the accuracy of spherical stratification method. In the actual use, if the radar measurement accuracy is high, we had better use the three-dimensional atmospheric method.
