Abstract
A number of lines of evidence support the view that the gneissic host rock of the iron deposits is a product of granitization and that the iron deposits were formed by release of iron from ferromagnesian silicates during regional metamorphism. (See Buddington, ibid., v. 61, p. 484-510).
