Abstract

In Performing Their Ordinary Duties psychiatrists cannot avoid assuming a number of roles. More than that, if they venture into such fields as military, correctional or forensic psychiatry the roles multiply and so do the possibilities of confusion, with consequent error. It is not a fascinating topic but an important one, for many people can suffer when things go wrong—including the psychiatrist.
