Abstract

AbstractThis chapter analyzes the view of Charron and De Bonville (2016) with other theoretical conceptions about Data Journalism, to help comprehend the transitions in the professional profile of journalists who work in such specific field. Agreeing that journalism, as an object, does not fit a purely theoretical model, this study aims, by focusing on the professional profile aspect, to somehow answer the following questions: What is the professional specialization that the journalist needs to have to work with data journalism? Does the journalist who works with data journalism need to have a degree or knowledge in Programming and Statistics? What is the selection process involved in organizing a team of experts? Such questions are centered on the Professional Profile aspect.KeywordsData journalismJournalist profileBig dataData visualizationDigital journalism
