Abstract
The power envelope technique prescribed recently to deduce the interatomic potential from a known nuclear stopping cross section variation and vice-versa, comprises the construction of an envelope of piecemeal power law curves obtained using the power law formalism. The range of applicability of the technique is investigated by applying it to standard potentials and typical range-energy data of keV heavy ions.
