Abstract

Abstract Studies of series of mummies and skeletons can contribute to the solution of some general problems in human population biology. Because the mode of life in Egypt changed only gradually from Pre-dynastic times through the Roman Empire, changes over long intervals of time in length of long bones, dental caries and the influence of inbreeding, for instance, can contribute to the understanding of these in modern man.
