Abstract
This article discusses the potential for legal commercial intellegence in the ocean shipping industry through the analysis of the information in the industry; it also describes an information system for processing such industry data. The system collects and verifies data from many sources and supplies information for the decision-maker in a comprehensible format, based on facts and not on guesses. Typical applications of the system are discussed and their impact is presented for several cases.
