Abstract

In this paper, a position sensorless control method for the wound-field synchronous motor with double three-phase wound stator in stop/low-speed driving is proposed. High-frequency signal injecton method which is commonly used for PMSMs is selected for the test motor's position sensorless control. However, due to the signal injecton, magnetic interference occurs between motor stator's windings. As a result, a large torque ripple generated on the output torque. Therefore, in this paper, using the feature of the test motor which has two sets of three-phase windings, the proposed method not only can realize the position sensorless control but can also reduce the torque ripple by injecting signals to the two sets of windings. Then, the effectiveness of the proposed method would be shown by simulation.
