Abstract

The energy spectra and eigenfunctions of the one-dimensional position-dependent effective mass Schrodinger equation can be obtained by using the standard methods of quasi-exactly solvable quantum mechanical models. Some special examples of position-dependent mass m( x) leading to real energy spectra and bounded wave functions for the Schrödinger equation, are also discussed in detail.
