Abstract

Integration may be defined as a process by which the members of a particular sub-group move from a condition of isolation within a more inclusive group to a condition of random dispersion among the members of the more inclusive group. Dump 100 black pellets into a jar already containing 1,000 white pellets. The black pellets, if they remain clustered where they land, are, in effect, isolated from, even though in the same jar as, the white pellets.
