Abstract
The automation training sector of the Government Training Institute is responsible for user-training in automation within the Dutch Civil Service. Because of the greatly increased demand for training programmes, the need to adjust courses to cover particular work situations and the demand for professional training for informatics specialists, the automation training sector is in the process of modifying its old training policy. In the old situation as many courses as possible were organised internally. Although not all the plans have yet been carried out fully, this paper gives a rough outline of what is happening within the Civil Service with regard to user-training in automation.
