Abstract

Unique and colorful among modem poets is E. E. Cummings, who is discussed here as satirist, lyricist, and “heterodox preacher.” The author is an instructor in English at the University of Chicago. This is the third in the series on modern American poets. The final two articles will consider Carl Sandburg and T. S. Eliot.
