Abstract

In the first part of the article Poetry and art of psalms in Ivan Franko's prose, contextual and ekstraxtual analysis of I. Franko's Teren in the Leg presented. For the first time in the history of literary criticism, Psalm 31 is considered as the intertext and chronotope of Ivan Franko's novel Teren in the Leg. The relevance of the exegetical tradition is shown as a key to explication of the content of sacral images and biblical materials in the prose writings of the writer.
