Abstract

A decade ago, in 2012, a social campaign titled “Citizen-friendly plain language” was announced and the First Congress of Official Language was held. Since then the idea of plain language has been developing in Poland – in both public administration and business. It consists in formulating communications such that they can be read quickly and understood when being read for the first time. This article aims to compile and describe the major entities, intiatives, and actions concerned with simplification of communication (plain language) in Poland.
