Abstract

Professional ethics plays a crucial role in safeguarding classified and legally protected information, encompassing various moral and professional aspects. Despite the lack of a unified ethical code regarding the protection of classified information in Poland, various law enforcement agencies introduce provisions regarding professional secrecy and confidentiality in their ethical codes. Maintaining confidentiality and protecting information are key elements of professional ethics aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of agency actions and building societal trust. Although some agencies do not publish their ethical codes, it can be presumed that they operate according to internally available ethical principles due to the necessity of maintaining secrecy.
