Abstract

This paper focuses on time-varying channel estimation for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing-offset quadrature amplitude modulation (OFDM-OQAM) systems based on a known preamble. Through calculating the imaginary interference power of one-step neighborhood, the two pilot structures are optimized in different design criteria, and the detailed implementation steps are provided. Under the same amount of overhead, the channel estimation performance of OFDM-OQAM in time-varying channel is analyzed and simulated. The results demonstrate that the method of interference cancellation (ICM) has its advantages, and better performance is achieved by updating pilot structure according to channel conditions. In addition, OFDM-OQAM outperformes conventional OFDM systems in fast time-varying channels.
