Abstract

SummaryChlorpromazine (10 mg/kg) was rapidly absorbed after intraperitoneal adminstration in rats. Concentrations in liver and brain greatly exceeded plasma levels. Chlorpromazine and its metabolites rapidly disappeared from plasma and vascular tissues. In dogs, chlorpromazine levels in plasma were approximately proportional to the dose during the first 7 hr after the intravenous administration of three different doses (1, 3 and 10 mg/kg), all in the range commonly used in pharmacological studies.
