Abstract
Subacute rehabilitation (SR) is a relatively new level of care that is being integrated into the practice of physiatry. This article focuses on the issues for physiatrists in providing SR in a variety of settings, with an emphasis on the nursing home environment, and explores several important issues related to integrating SR into the current and future physiatric practice.
