Abstract

It has been pointed out1,2) that in the photoproduction of electron pairs from hydrogen, a dramatic interference effect should be seen in the region where the invariant mass of the lepton pair is about equal to the mass of the omega mesons. This effect corresponds to interference between those processes which proceed via the photoproduction of a ρ meson which subsequently decays into the lepton pair, and those which proceed via the photoproductidn of the ω.
