Abstract

AbstractOn the basis of experimental results published earlier1 and data from the literature2, an extension of the complex of reactions taking place in the photooxidation of polyamides is proposed. It is shown that after the completion of a chain break, at least one of the ends formed is shortened step by step until suitable conditions for termination are present. In this connection the availability of oxygen as well as the relative immobility of the activated ends are of importance.
