Abstract
The first excited state of oxygen, singlet oxygen (1Δg) undergoes a variety of different reactions with organic compounds; these vary from reactions with alkenes containing allylic hydrogens,1 with conjugated dienes such as furan,1 with organic nitrites,2 with stabilized carbanions,3 and others.1
