Abstract

The Phoenix Management Intern Program will begin its thirtieth year in July 1979. Throughout past years, the Phoenix Intern Program has gained national recognition as a highly professional program which serves to regenerate the public administrative system by attracting, developing, and retaining well-trained young people in local government. The success which the Phoenix program has enjoyed may be attributed in large part to the strong, continuing support of the city's management staff and elected officials. The program represents a sincere dedication to professional public service by providing an opportunity for young people interested in government, and specifically municipal management, to obtain training and experience in the complex, ever-challenging urban setting which Phoenix provides.
