Abstract
The Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) is the only think tank in the United States devoted to global economic policy issues. Its staff of 50 includes two dozen Senior Fellows who address the entire range of international trade and financial topics as well as all key countries and regions. The first comprehensive survey of the world’s 5,465 think tanks recently ranked the PIIE as tied for “Top Think Tank in the World” (with the Brookings Institution, whose budget is eight times as large). Another survey indicated that the Institute has recently been quoted more widely in the quality media than any other economics think tank and that its Director, C. Fred Bergsten, has been the most quoted think-tank economist in the world since 1997.
