Abstract

Irradiation of CO by CO Fourth-Positive light results in emission from various CO triplet states, and this emission is attributed to a resonance fluorescence process involving optically forbidden transitions. Certain rotational levels of the triplet states are perturbed by the A 1 Π state, and it is only these levels that are seen in emission.
