Abstract

Environmental pollution knowledge is a part of environmental knowledge which discuss any released substance that might damage natural resources and environmental system. The importance of environmental pollution knowledge correlates with conservation behavior, which is a real action to preserve the environment and protect natural resources. Conservation behavior is also important to stop the degradation of our environment. This research aims to know the relationship between environmental pollution knowledge and conservation behavior of 100 high school students, which was selected by simple random sampling. The research was conducted at Labschool Jakarta Senior High School in November 2019. The instruments used for measuring students' knowledge of environmental pollution are made based on dimensions of Anderson and Krathwol (Factual, Conceptual, Procedural) as many as 32 questions. The instrument used for measuring students' Conservation Behavior is in the form of a statement that has been modified by researchers from the General Ecological Behavior (GEB) that was developed by Kaiser as many as 39 statements. The method was descriptive with a correlational study. The analysis data techniques were normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. From these tests, we know that the data were normal and also homogenous. The research showed a positive relationship between Environmental Pollution Knowledge and Conservation Behavior of High School Students. These indicate that high school students have to raise environmental pollution knowledge to enhance conservation behavior.
