Abstract

SUMMARY The presence of Eimeria species was monitored in flocks medicated with decoquinate and reared in houses in which other chemically unrelated coccidiostats had been used previously. Oocysts were detected and isolated from faecal samples, although their presence was not accompanied by any apparent effect on final live weights of the birds. Sensitivity tests on these strains showed that they were incompletely controlled by the coccidiostats which had been used in the same houses up to 90 weeks previously.
