Abstract

The article discusses the book “Lev Oborin” by S. Khentova, which is of particular interest in connection with the 150th anniversary of K. Igumnov, whose school Oborin belongs to. The article touches upon the formation of Oborin as a pianist, characterises the teaching methods of his teachers, which have not lost their relevance to this day. The article also considers Oborin’s interpretation of the works of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Prokofi ev from the standpoint of modern perception. The value of the pianist’s performing heritage and his role in the development of Russian piano art are noted.
