Abstract
AbstractThis paper demonstrates how ultrafine talc can be used in a rigid PVC formulation to design a compound with increased stiffness and high impact strength. The talc's shape and particle size, combined with the affects of increased levels of impact modifier, produce a PVC material with an outstanding impact stiffness balance. Although more expensive than conventional PVC formulations, it can compete with other resins, such as ABS, in high performance applications.
