Abstract

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that affects 6.2 million children worldwide.1 The vast heterogeneity in endotypes makes it difficult to predict which children will develop asthma. The Pediatric Asthma Risk Score (PARS) is a quantitative risk score for asthma developed using clinical and demographic data that can be used by health care providers, parents, and researchers.2 PARS was developed using data from the Cincinnati Childhood Allergy and Air Pollution Study (CCAAPS) birth cohort3 to identify risk factors predicting asthma development at age 7 years.
