Abstract
From diseased apple rootletsPythium sylvaticum was isolated. Pathogenicity tests have shown thatP. sylvaticum, P. ultimum andP. intermedium are strongly pathogenic to the primary root of the apple seedling. Uit wortels van appelbomen in een perceel waar het verschijnsel bodemmoeheid optreedt, werd de schimmelPythium sylvaticum geisoleerd. Deze schimmel en ookPythium ultimum enPythium intermedium bleken pathogeen te zijn voor de primaire wortel van de appelzaailing.
