The Pathogenesis of Hyostrongylus Rubidus in Growing Pigs

Abstract

Infections of up to 43,000 infective larvae of H. rubidus did not appear to affect the growth rate, total serum proteins, serum albumin and serum globulin of young recently weaned pigs during the first three weeks of infection. The development and pathogenesis of the parasite during its prepatent period are redescribed. Des infections de plus de 43.000 larves infectantes de H. rubidus ne semblaient pas affecter le taux de croissance, les protéines sériques totales, la sérum-albumine et la sérumglobuline des jeunes porc récemment sevrés pendant les trois premières semaines de l’infection. Le développement et la pathogénie du parasite pendant sa période d’incubation sont redécrits. Die Entwicklung und Pathogenese der Parasiten in dieser nicht manifesten Period werden beschrieben.
