Abstract

ABSTRACT Curves are obtained by stitching or drawing straight lines that join points on two lines that satisfy a certain relationship. A graphing calculator and a dynamical geometry program are also used to obtain families of lines with the same characteristics. Then we prove that a parabola is indeed the envelope of the family of straight lines.
