Abstract

The panegyria are annual feasts of the Vlach-speaking community of Chionohori, a village in the prefecture of Serres. These feasts serve as a means of constituting, negotiating, and managing the community's cultural identity and history. Dances and songs play a major role in the panegyria, shaping the temporal-spatial framework of performance.
