Abstract

AbstractThe oxidation of solutions of ethylene–propylene copolymers with chromic acid, chromyl chloride, and t‐butyl chromate has been studied. The efficacy of these reagents in producing crosslinking sites has been determined by curing with toluene diisocyanate. The presence of hydroxyl and carbonyl groups has been demonstrated by the preparation of soluble derivatives of the oxidized copolymers.
