Abstract

Spin-polarized atomic hydrogen in a H 2-matrix has been studied ( T = 1.3 K, H ≈ 50 kG). The Overhauser effect for atomic hydrogen in a H 2-matrix has been observed. The experiment was carried out by ESR-spectroscopy in the 2 mm-range. The nuclear relaxation and forbidden transition times have been measured to be T n ≈ 3 × 10 3 s and T 3 ≈ 5 × 10 2 s respectively. The electron relaxation time T e was estimated to be ≈5 × 10 −2 s. The nuclear polarization was p ≈ 0.6.
