Abstract

The author discusses three motives for trying to make a model of the kind we discussed in this paper: unification, the renormalisation problem, and what he calls the fermion problem. Unification of one kind or another has always been a goal of theoretical physicists. The other two problems are of course very modern ones, and specific to quantum field theory. They are addressed in this paper.
