Abstract

In last month's Management Report, we considered the importance of perspective when it comes to union prevention efforts. The perspectives of employees and supervisors can change significantly over time and, as a general proposition, both employees and supervisors are more likely to be open‐minded to union‐free messages near the start of employment. Abrupt messaging in response to a union representation petition tends to be significantly less effective among both employees and supervisors.
