Abstract
Between 2010 and 2014, the Centre of Occupational Medicine (COM) based at the Ufa Institute of Occupational Health and Human Ecology’s site admitted 12766 patients to examine their employment opportunities and to identify a relationship between a disease and occupation. The main reason for referrals to the COM is related to blood circulation diseases. The reason for examining disease work-relatedness is patients’ diseases of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue. Out of 12766 individuals examined, 6246 (49%) patients who referred for a health care consultation were hospitalized due to the necessity to perform supplementary medical examination not specified at the stage of periodic health check-up.
