Abstract
ABSTRACT Spectroscopic data are presented for the cataclysmic variable 0623 + 71. The spectrum contains only narrow, weak Balmer emission, and very weak emission lines of HeI, HeII, and CII. The period of this system is not uniquely established by the data. The most probable periods are 0.1390 and 0.1535 day. Based on the former period, other elements are determined to be: V0 = -81 + or - 3 km/s, K = 71 + or - 5 km/s, T0 = 2446073.836 + or - 0.002; while on the latter, V0 = -77 + or - 4 km/s, K = 72 + or - 5 km/s, T0 = 2446073.834 + or 0.002. A circular orbit is adopted for both sets of solutions. The masses of the white dwarf and the lower luminosity star are discussed.
