Abstract

In this paper, we present the modified weakly conditionally stable finite difference time domain (WCS-FDTD) method by incorporating the parameters that optimize the performance of the method. In comparisons with the conventional FDTD method, the proposed method is efficient for the structures in which fine grids are required in one or two directions. In comparisons with the conventional WCS-FDTD method, the proposed method is more accurate since its numerical dispersion errors are minimized. Numerical stability and numerical dispersion of the proposed method are also presented in this paper.
