Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a tropical climate with high average temperatures. Indonesian territory is exposed to optimal solar radiation because it is located along the equator. This makes the potential of solar energy in Indonesia quite large around 4.8 kWh/ m2. SCADA system can be powered by various energy sources, including solar energy which is renewable and free. The developed photovoltaic power system in the remote station SCADA PLN Banten distribution using CSi (mono-crystalline silicon) solar photovoltaic, solar charge controller, and lead-acid batteries. The existing solar photovoltaic power system is not optimal, because it cannot provide power supply for SCADA equipment in the last 24 hours. There has been a failure to match the energy requirement for the SCADA system and the capacity of PV, Inverter& Batteries needed. If the solar photovoltaic power system increases the battery storage capacity at least by 71%, it is expected that the solar photovoltaic power system can provide power supply to the SCADA system for 24 hours and the reliability of the distribution electrical network will be increasing as well.
