Abstract

The description of the optics of long-wave x-rays presented includes their definition and the history of their study, the diffraction and penetrating power, use to investigate crystals, photoelectric absorption mechanism. Contact x-ray microscopy and its problems such as focusing of x rays, image magnification, and low absorption of x rays is considered in its present state of development. (JFP)
