Feigelson, E. ; Dexter, L. ; Liller, W. Abstract An optical light curve of AM Herculis from 1890 to 1976 is presented. The data were obtained from 338 blue photographic plates. For long-time scales greater than 100 days, variations up to 3 mag are detected, while for short-time scales less than 0.1 day, 1 mag variations are seen. A least-squares technique is described and used to analyze periodic variability. No true periodicities were found with periods between 2 and 10,000 days or around the binary period of 0.13 days.
