Abstract

Information about the mechanism of the solid-state photoreaction in bis( p-toluene sulphonate) ester of 2,4-hexadiyne-1,6-diol (TSHD) is deduced from optical spectra. The photoinduced generation and decay kinetics and the structure of the short-chain singlet intermediates (optical intermediates) observed in the optical absorption spectra during the low-temperature photoreaction are discussed.
